2024 MSSFR Rules

6AM Rodeo Begins — 10AM Weigh Station Opens — 5PM Weigh Station Closes

 

General Rules

The Captains of each boat are responsible for their anglers!  Disqualification of any person on board their respective boats will lead to a total disqualification of that particular boat and persons on board weighing in of all fish species. Any violation of rodeo rules will result in disqualification and forfeiture of all rights, prizes, or winnings in any and all categories by the person disqualified. Decision of the judges will be final.

Master Angler

$30 entry fee for each angler. The Master Angler will be awarded with a $500 cash prize. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded in each of the 16 fish categories.

King Mackerel Jackpot

There will be no Red Snapper Jackpot this year.  It will be replaced with a King Mackerel Jackpot.  King Mackerel Jackpot tickets are $75.00 per boat.  A single fish being weighed in and a payout for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place. Each person on a jackpot boat must have a regular rodeo ticket ($30.00). 20% of all jackpot proceeds plus matching funds supplied by MSS will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 

 

Mystic Anglers

Tickets will be drawn at a later date for many, nice door prizes as well as cash prizes of $100.00, $150.00 and $250.00 that will be distributed to the Mystic Anglers, defined as anyone who purchased an MFFSR ticket whether they fish or not. 

Kid’s Tournament

 Tickets are $10.00 each with three fish categories:  Croaker, Hardhead Catfish and White Trout.  Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third places in each category. The Kid’s Tournament is sponsored by Bass Pro Shops.

Speckled Trout Jackpot

Speckled Trout Jackpot tickets are $75.00 per boat. A single fish being weighed in and a payout for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place. Each person on a jackpot boat must have a regular rodeo ticket ($30.00). 20% of all jackpot proceeds plus matching funds supplied by MSS will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  All fish will be checked by the judge prior to weighing. Any fish deemed not acceptable by the judge will be rejected. In the event of a tie, the event of a tie, the first fish weighed will be declared the winner. Fish must be caught on a rod and reel (hook and line,) and all rules of the MSSFR apply.
